Plant description: Shy and pale, or flaunting in glorious color, Lady Slipper Orchids can be found in shady forests under trees, in small openings, grassy meadows or prairies. Characterized by the slipper-shaped pouches of the flowers, the pouches serve to trap insects and force them to climb up past the staminode, behind which they collect or deposit pollinia, thus fertilizing the flower. 1' 6" tall.
Care: All plants ship in terra cotta pots 7 inches in diameter. Easy to care for. Detailed handling instructions shipped with purchase of plant. Orchid plants generally last 1 month depending on care given to plant.
