Plum Alley has been actively following the trajectory and progress of AI across large companies and new entrants. The speed of breakthrough innovation and development is unprecedented, alongside massive quantums of capital being invested into the foundation, infrastructure, and application layers of AI. We have been seeking and researching new AI companies that are differentiated and represent a new way of thinking toward putting human advancement at the apex of what they build.
While this is not our customary opportunity and process, we are excited to present a special allocation in a company called Humans&. The Company encapsulates the unique characteristics and the distinct mission of a human-centric frontier AI lab. It is reimagining and centering AI around people and relationships, and we feel compelled to present the investment opportunity. To be clear, this opportunity is very early and does not fit our typical parameters of stage and traction. The decision to participate in this opportunity will be driven by belief and conviction in the founders and the importance and value of their vision. Human& is a Seed-stage company that has already closed $480M in funding from key and deep-pocketed investors and strategics, including Silicon Valley Angels, NVIDIA, Jeff Bezos, Google Ventures, Emerson Collective, DCVC, AME Cloud Ventures (Jerry Yang), Palo Alto Growth Capital, and other high-profile investors. The capital supports a highly credentialed founding team of five experts from xAI, Anthropic, Google, Google DeepMind, OpenAI, Meta, Stanford, and MIT. They have collectively built and shipped models and products. Most importantly, they have a woman founder who cares about how people interact with AI and providing access to female investors. About the Company
Humans& was founded by 5 deeply experienced and technical founders who have been working in the field in the most advanced AI companies that have brought forward the models that have been adopted by a global population. The founders are some of the top leaders and thinkers in the AI research space. The Humans& lab is building a new model that the founders believe offers different and huge value that is not available or possible with existing models. The company is looking to incorporate and embed human behavior and human attributes in their model to produce more authentic person-to-person interaction, and stronger understanding and collaboration in life and work environments. The founders' expertise allows them to reimagine the inputs that models are trained on, and how to experiment and perfect a distinct and much needed model at scale. The model they are building incorporates dynamic learning over time, multi-agent reinforcement rewards, memory storage, and human user understanding and relationship. The model is being built now and in testing for a V1 release in Q1-Q2 of this year. The proceeds from the raise will go to pay for the compute needs to train and evolve their proprietary model.
